Back in Time – the ideal start (or end) of a school trip to Prague

Do you teach history or local history and are wondering how to get your students excited about the past? Or are you planning a school trip to Prague and are looking for a place that will draw children into the action and that they will remember for a long time? Then the Back in Time experience museum is a perfect fit for you.

History that comes to life before your eyes

Imagine that instead of a complicated explanation of the legend of Princess Libuša, you and your students are transported directly to the moment when it predicts the glory of Prague. Or that in a few minutes they will see the Charles Bridge at the time of its construction, meet the Golem or find themselves in the middle of the events of 1989.

All of this is offered by Back in Time

a multimedia exhibition that draws visitors into more than 1,200 years of Prague history through cutting-edge technology. Holograms, interactive elements and a 5D cinema can create an adventure from history that children will not easily forget.

Connection with teaching

The exhibition is a great way to summarize the curriculum – for example in the 5th or 9th grade. It can also serve as a supplement to a specific topic during the year that you are currently discussing. To make teachers’ work even easier, we have prepared methodological sheets for the first and second grades of elementary schools and also for lower grades of secondary schools. Thanks to them, school trips become not only fun, but also a meaningful educational experience.

Practical facilities for a school trip

Back in Time is located in the iconic Máj building on Národní třída – from where you are just a few steps away from the Old Town Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge, the National Theatre and many other monuments. One projection can accommodate up to 28 people. If several classes arrive at the same time, it is no problem to let them in gradually with an interval of 10 minutes. In addition, the entire space is completely barrier-free and accessible to wheelchair users – ideal for one-day trips for schools.

Language-variable

The museum is also available in foreign languages – in addition to Czech and English, it is also available in German, Spanish, Italian, French, Korean and Chinese. Thanks to this, you can use it not only as part of history, but also when teaching foreign languages or as part of international exchange stays.

An extra bonus – a view of the whole of Prague

After the students have gone through the history of Prague in Back in Time, they can go two floors higher – to the highest viewpoint in the center of Prague. From the Máje terrace, the panorama of the metropolis is truly breathtaking and, moreover, free. From the viewpoint, you can see the whole of Prague with all its sights. This gives a beautiful finishing touch to a school trip to Prague – literally with a view.

Why here?

Back in Time represents a modern and yet didactically valuable way to introduce students to the history of Prague. Thanks to a powerful visual and emotional experience, children will take away a deep memory trace – and you can be sure that this time they will talk about the trip with enthusiasm at home. Whether you are planning a one-day trip for school or an expedition with multiple classes, Back in Time is a place that combines fun, knowledge and accessibility in one.
